I’m Joel, based in Manresa, in the heart of Catalonia. Lover of visual arts and documentary cinema.
I’m deeply interested in telling people’s stories, exploring different ways of life, and—whenever possible—working in nature. I’ve spent the last six years working as a filmmaker, gradually moving toward documentary film, often collaborating with mountain brands to tell stories about athletes and their challenges. My job is a dream come true.
I understand cinema as a tool to bring realities closer, to move us, and to transform.
Some years ago I co-created Record documentals, a project about old people producing documentaries and telling their lifestories to keep their memories forever, a tribute for them and a gift for the family.
I see myself as a person who is sensitive to art and music, a trully crazy fan of Pink Floyd.
I spent hours and hours playing the guitar and there's no a better plan to do it with some friends in a firecamp.
Learning how to repair and build those things I need to live it's an idea that deeply fascinates me.
I have converted my own van into a camper, restoring an old rural catalan house with some friends, I've eaten tons of tomatoes of my own vegetable garden, and I have a special devotion to building lamps using old tree trunks that I find in the forest.
